In this article, I will try to collect methods that actually work for certain DVRs. Let’s get started!

Dealing with video surveillance systems, I came to the point that sometimes they have a password that I forgot (or no one knew). And it would be nice if passwords could be restored by simply resetting the battery like in a regular PC, but with video recorders everything is more complicated. The fact is that here the battery mostly resets the date, and the passwords themselves in the admin panel remain in place. Here I will describe those methods that either do not require much effort to verify, or have actually been used. I propose to classify them by manufacturers.

Amcrest

Everything is simple here. There is a support service. I wrote from here , described the problem that the product was purchased at an auction and the seller has no idea about the password on this video surveillance system. Usually they ask to connect the DVR to the Internet and dial by phone, but in general I solved the issue in the mail mode and the issue was resolved very quickly. With this manufacturer it is easier to solve the issue directly.

OOSSXX/Yeskam

Here, as with Amcrest, the situation didn’t work and turned out very comical. I received the following text:

oossxx_support

Simply put, I was informed that this system (apparently, despite the corresponding inscription on the box and on the initial screen of the DVR, as well as the software support from their website for my DVR and the presence of exactly the same set as the one I have among their products) is not a product of their activities, and therefore they cannot help. Sad, right? Yes. I also thought so and began to decide where I would add these cameras. But everything turned out to be simpler. I found a ridiculous but working method on the Internet. Its essence is as follows:

Enter the wrong password or simply leave the field blank, confirm and get the following window:

oossxx_passwordOn it (next to the OK button), press the left/right mouse button alternately. Repeat this 6 times, then a window will appear:

oossxx_password_2

We agree by clicking Yes, or enter a new password, or simply leave the field blank. That’s it! There is no password.

Other manufacturers

I haven’t come across any others yet. There was a Sannce DVR , everything was more complicated there, as far as I remember, it was necessary to flash a chip with firmware or something like that. Given the price (value?) of the DVR, I decided not to bother. Otherwise, there are several password generators. The performance (successful) has not been tested, but as a backup option you can try. Like other articles on this site, this material will be supplemented and updated as new solutions are found with certain DVRs, so bookmark the page, and I hope it will be able to help you somehow 🙂
